Gravity Falls creator boards Sony’s animated Spider-Man movie

March 3, 2017 by Gary Collinson

Last month it was officially confirmed that Sony’s as-yet-untitled animated Spider-Man movie will revolve around the character of Miles Morales as opposed to Peter Parker, and now comes word that Gravity Falls creator Alex Hirsch has came on board the project as a story contributor.

Phil Lord (The LEGO Movie, Han Solo: A Star Wars Story) has penned the script for the movie and will executive produce alongside his frequent collaborator Christopher Miller, while Bob Persichetti (The Little Prince) and Peter Ramsey (Rise of the Guardians) are directing.

Hirsch’s hit show Gravity Falls came to an end last February with the conclusion of the second season.

Look for the animated Spider-Man movie to swing into cinemas on December 21st 2018.
