Benicio Del Toro and Patricia Arquette to star in Ben Stiller’s Showtime prison drama

Benicio Del Toro, Patricia Arquette are being lined up to star in a new Showtime prison drama to be directed by Ben Stiller.

Helming all eight episodes, Stiller is teaming with Showtime for a new true-crime limited series based on a 2015 prison escape.

The series will be named after the prison in question, Escape at Clinton Correctional, and Oscar winners Benicio Del Toro and Patricia Arquette are currently in negotiations to star.

The drama is based on the real life account of Richard Matt and David Sweat, two inmates who were found to be missing at the maximum security prison in New York, after being aided by a female prison employee.

Matt will be portrayed by Del Toro, and Patricia Arquette will play Tilly Mitchell – the supervisor of the prison’s tailor shop. Casting for Sweat is expected to be announced shortly.

It certainly sounds like an exciting project with a bunch of interesting stars involved. Surely one to look out for.
