Angela Lansbury in talks for the BBC’s Little Women adaptation

June 25, 2017 by Gary Collinson

Deadline is reporting that Angela Lansbury is in talks to join the cast of Little Women, a three-part adaptation of the classic Louisa May Alcott novel Little Women, which is being produced for the BBC and PBS.

Written by Heidi Thomas (Call the Midwife) and directed by Vanessa Caswill (Thirteen), Little Women is set against the backdrop of the American Civil War and “follows sisters Jo, Meg, Beth and Amy March on their journey from childhood to adulthood. With the help of their mother, Marmee, while their father is away at war, the girls navigate what it means to be a young woman: from sibling rivalry and first love to loss and marriage.”

Filming on Little Women is set to get underway next month, with Lansbury portraying the character of Aunt March.
