Following on from the news that Carnage will be the villain in Venom and Sony’s plans for an expanded SpiderVerse with Mysterio and Kraven the Hunter spin-offs, The Hollywood Reporter also dropped a little nugget of information for Spider-Man 2.
The site’s report says that Spider-Man 2 will see Tom Holland’s Spidey team-up with another MCU hero, but it won’t be Ol’ Shell Head.
“Sony will get a to-be-determined Marvel character for Spider-Man 2 like it received for Homecoming with the box-office monster Iron Man, played by Robert Downey Jr,” the report states. “But sources say it won’t be Iron Man next time around.”

A young Peter Parker/Spider-Man (Tom Holland), who made his sensational debut in Captain America: Civil War, begins to navigate his newfound identity as the web-slinging super hero in Spider-Man: Homecoming.
