Talks are underway about a fourth season of Hannibal

August 11, 2017 by Gary Collinson

Hannibal fans who haven’t given up hope of a potential revival of the cancelled TV series will no doubt be delighted to hear from executive producer Bryan Fuller that talks are now underway about a potential return for the much-loved show.

Conversations couldn't start until 2 years after the final airing of season 3. @neoprod has started those conversations. This takes time.

— Bryan Fuller (@BryanFuller) August 9, 2017

Hannibal was cancelled by NBC after three seasons back in August 2015, but Fuller has always maintained that a fourth season was a possibility, stating that in May that:

“I have conversations with Hannibal executive producer Martha De Laurentiis. I have conversations with Mads Mikkelsen and Hugh Dancy. We’re all excited about the prospect of returning to the story. There’s some hurdles to get through. The rights revert back to Martha in September I believe and then it’s a matter of do we do it with Gaumont, the production company of Hannibal? Which would be the only way to do it if we wanted to use those characters.”

So, it seems it’s far from a done deal as yet, but let’s hope the plans all come together…
