UPDATE: Game of Thrones’ Hardhome and Battle of the Bastards director returning for final season

September 26, 2017 by Samuel Brace

The director of Hardhome, and other infamous episodes, will be returning to Game of Thrones for the final season.

Hardhome and Battle of the Bastards are two episodes that live in infamy, even by Game of Thrones’ standards, and what these two episodes have in common is that they were both directed by Miguel Sapochnik.

Sapochnik was absent from season 7 of the show but fans of these past exhilarating installments can rejoice with the news that he will likely be taking the director’s chair once again for the show’s final ever season.

UPDATE: HBO has announced that Miguel Sapochnik will be joined by David Nutter, who has helmed six episodes so far including ‘The Rains of Castamere’, ‘The Dance of Dragons’ and ‘Mother’s Mercy’, while creators and showrunners David Benioff and D.B. Weiss will also direct the series finale.
