Ron Howard reveals that Tag & Bink will feature in the Han Solo Star Wars spinoff

October 14, 2017 by Gary Collinson

It looks like the fan favourite Dark Horse Comics characters Tag and Bink are set to join the official Star Wars canon, with Ron Howard taking to Twitter to reveal that the duo will appear in the upcoming Han Solo: A Star Wars Story, where they will be portrayed by screenwriter Jon Kasdan and first assistant director Toby Hefferman.

If you’re unfamiliar with Tag & Bink, the duo were created by Kevin Rubio (director of the fan film Troops), and are the Rosencrantz & Guildenstern of the Star Wars universe, crossing paths with every major character in the Saga as they influence the events of both the Original and Prequel trilogies. You can read about the characters over at Wookieepedia.

Following Howard’s tweet, Rubio and Kasdan then had the following exchange…

Han Solo stars Alden Ehrenreich (Hail, Caesar!) as the famous smuggler, Donald Glover (Atlanta) as Lando Calrissian, Woody Harrelson (War for the Planet of the Apes) as Beckett (Solo’s mentor), Joonas Suotamo as Chewbacca and Phoebe Waller-Bridge (Fleabag), Emilia Clarke (Game of Thrones), Thandie Newton (Westworld), Paul Bettany (Avengers: Infinity War), Ian Kenny (Sing Street), and Warwick Davis (Star Wars: Episode VI – Return of the Jedi) in as-yet-unrevealed roles. It is set for release on May 25th 2018.
