Fonzo sees Hardy taking on the role of the infamous mobster, with the film focussing on a 47-year-old Capone who, with dementia rotting his mind,  finds himself haunted by harrowing memories of his violent and brutal past.

The film is being directed by Josh Trank (Chronicle, Fantastic Four) and sees Hardy joined in the cast by Kyle MacLachlan (Twin Peaks), Matt Dillon (Wayward Pines), Linda Cardellini (Bloodline), Kathrine Narducci (The Sopranos) and Jack Lowden (Dunkirk).

Hardy will next be seen on the big screen in the title role of Sony’s Spider-Man spinoff Venom, which is set to open on October 5th of this year.
