The Voyage of Doctor Dolittle voice cast revealed

March 28, 2018 by Ricky Church

While we’ve got a few more weeks to wait until the release of Avengers: Infinity War, Robert Downey Jr. has taken to his Twitter page to reveal the full voice cast for his next film, The Voyage of Doctor Dolittle.

Joining Downey as his animal cohorts is Emma Thompson as Polynesia the parrot, Selena Gomez as Betsy the giraffe, Tom Holland as Jip the dog, and Ralph Fiennes as Barry the tiger,Rami Malek as Chee-Chee the gorilla, Octavia Spencer as Dab-Dab the duck, Kumail Nanjiani as Plimpton the ostrich, John Cena as Yoshi the Polar Bear, Marion Cotillard as Tutu the fox, Carmen Ejogo as Regine the Lioness, Craig Robinson as Fleming the mouse and Frances de la Tour.

Also starring in the film is Antonio Banderas (The Mask of Zorro) as the film’s antagonist, a pirate called Rassouli, with Michael Sheen (Good Omens) as Mudfly. Jim Broadbent (Harry Potter) is also starring in the film in an unrevealed role.

An adaptation of the Hugh Lofting children’s books, The Voyage of Doctor Dolittle is being eyed as a new franchise for Downey as he transitions from his Marvel Cinematic Universe role. Universal Pictures is producing and directing the film, which is set to begin shooting later this month in London ahead of an April 12th 2019 release.
