Antoine Fuqua to direct The Street

Deadline has revealed that Antoine Fuqua (The Equalizer, The Magnificent Seven) has signed on to direct The Street, a new thriller from Goodfellas screenwriter Nicholas Pileggi.

Plot details on The Street are being kept under wraps, but is it understood that the thriller is set against the backdrops of New York and Shanghai. In addition to directing, Fuqua will also produce alongside Tucker Tooley and Edward R. Pressman.

Fuqua’s latest film The Equalizer 2 is set for release in July, while he recently rejoined Universal Pictures’ long-gestating Scarface remake, and also serves as executive producer on the Fox drama The Resident.
