Exclusive: Margot Robbie confirms Harley Quinn girl gang film is titled Birds of Prey

July 7, 2018 by Gary Collinson

Yesterday we brought you some news direct from actress Margot Robbie about Warner Bros. and DC Films’ Harley Quinn-headlined ‘girl gang’ movie Birds of Prey, with Robbie revealing that filming will hopefully get underway in January 2019, as well as revealing that it will be R-rated, with a smaller budget than previous DCEU entries.

Following the news, a Twitter debate erupted, with some fans claiming that the Cathy Yan-directed film is not actually Birds of Prey, but rather one of the many other rumoured Harley Quinn projects. Reasoning being that a) Harley Quinn isn’t a member of the Birds of Prey in the comics, and b) it has only ever been referred to as the ‘Harley Quinn girl gang movie’.

Well, to clear up any debate once and for all, here’s Margot herself talking about the movie to Flickering Myth’s Freda Cooper, where she confirms the project is indeed Birds of Prey…

Hopefully we’ll get some further official news on Birds of Prey during Warner Bros.’ DC panel at the San Diego Comic-Con later this month.

Margot Robbie’s latest film Terminal is out in UK cinemas today and will be available on DVD, Blu-ray and Digital from 6th August. We’ll have our full interview for that movie up at the start of August.
