Brie Larson to reunite with Short Term 12 director for Just Mercy

August 10, 2018 by Gary Collinson

Having recently wrapped production on the superhero blockbuster Captain Marvel, it is being reported that Oscar winner Brie Larson is now in final talks to join the cast of Warner Bros. Pictures’ courtroom drama Just Mercy.

Should Larson sign on, she would reunite with her Short Term 12 and The Glass Castle director Destin Daniel Cretton on the film, which is based upon the book Just Mercy: A Story of Justice and Redemption.

Just Mercy will see Michael B. Jordan (Black Panther) portraying Bryan Stevenson, a gifted young lawyer fighting for equal justice in a flawed legal system. Jamie Foxx (Robin Hood) will play Walter McMillian, a death row inmate who insists he is innocent of the brutal murder for which he has been convicted.

Filming on Just Mercy is set to get underway in Atlanta in September.
