Production begins on Vin Diesel-headlined Bloodshot

August 7, 2018 by Gary Collinson

Back in March of 2015, Sony and Valiant Entertainment announced that they were teaming up to create the “largest independent superhero movie universe”, and now we have word that filming on the very first entry is underway.

Fast & Furious star Vin Diesel is taking on the title role in Bloodshot, where he’ll portray Ray Garrison, a mortally wounded soldier who finds himself resurrected using nanotechnology and given the task of hunting down superpowered outcasts known as harbingers.

Here’s Diesel announcing the start of production…

Bloodshot is being directed by visual effects supervisor Dave Wilson (Avengers: Age of Ultron) from a script by Eric Heisserer (Arrival) and Jeff Wadlow (Truth or Dare), and also features a cast that includes  Toby Kebbell (Fantastic Four), Eiza Gonzalez (Baby Driver), Michael Sheen (Passengers), Sam Heughan (Outlander), Talulah Riley (Westworld), Johannes Haukur Johannesson (Game of Thrones), Lamorne Morris (Game Night) and Alex Hernandez (UnReal).

The original plan for the Valiant universe was to follow Bloodshot with a Harbinger film, with both movies then receiving sequels before crossing over with Harbinger Wars.

Bloodshot is set for release on February 21st 2020.
