The Walking Dead is planning Maggie’s return in season 10

November 21, 2018 by Samuel Brace

Angela Kang, the showrunner for The Walking Dead, says that they are planning to have Maggie return in season 10.

The Walking Dead has undergone some drastic changes of late, including everything from massive time jumps to main characters departing the show. One of those characters is Maggie (played by Lauren Cohan) but there is hope for the character to return.

Speaking to ComicBook.com, Kang said that plans are in place for the character to come back: “We will hopefully come back to Maggie’s story in Season 10. Lauren and I have been texting about some things, and we’re hopefully gonna schedule a conversation, but Georgie’s group is definitely out there in world doing some stuff, and I have some notion of what they’re up to. They may also be part of the universe in general. That’s really up to Scott, but we’ll see how it all plays out.”

Kang also said that its possible that Maggie could return in the wider Walking Dead universe: “In our minds there’s a lot of things going on in the world around our characters and the way that it intersects with our story. That’s part of what we’re talking about currently.”

Kang can’t guarantee that Maggie and Cohan will return but she said this is why they make contingency plans in case things don’t come together: “It’s funny, on the show we often do that just no matter what the circumstances are. We often go down multiple paths before we kind of decide on something, but I’m operating off of the idea that hopefully, we’ll get Lauren back. We’ve certainly been talking about it, so we’ll see, but yeah.”

Would you like to see Maggie return? If so, in what capacity?
