2019 is shaping up to be an enormous year for Brie Larson; not only is the Oscar-winner set to take on the role of the Marvel hero Carol Danvers in Captain Marvel and Avengers: Endgame, but she also has her directorial debut Unicorn Store incoming courtesy of Netflix.
The streaming service has acquired the rights to Unicorn Store, as well as signing a deal with Larson and producer Lynette Howell Taylor (A Star Is Born) to develop Larson’s next project as actress and director, Lady Business.
As per Deadline, Lady Business is based upon an article by John Paul Titlow and follows Penelope Gazin and Kate Dwyer, two young entrepreneurs who had to invent a male partner for their company in order to be taken seriously in the business world.
Unicorn Store meanwhile follows a woman who moves back home with her parents and receives an invitation to a store that will test her ideas of what it really means to grow up. The film, which sees Larson starring alongside Joan Cusack, Bradley Whitford, Mamoudou Athie, Hamish Linklater, and Samuel L. Jackson, is set to be released by Netflix on April 5th.
