In a deal coming out of the European Film Market, former 007 Pierce Brosnan has signed on to star in the gold heist thriller The Misfits, which is being directed by action veteran Renny Harlin (Die Hard 2, Cliffhanger, The Long Kiss Goodnight).
According to THR, The Misfits is set mainly in the Middle East, and will see Brosnan playing the renowned criminal Richard Pace, who finds himself caught up in an elaborate gold heist that promises to have far-reaching implications.
“We are extremely excited to have him on board,” said Harlin. “Pierce and I have been friends for many years and have been looking for a project to collaborate on for some time. I could not have hoped for a better actor to play our lead.”

The film is set to shoot in Abu Dhabi this coming week, with Brosnan joined in the cast by Jamie Chung (The Gifted) and Hermione Corfield (Star Wars: The Last Jedi).
