Homeland’s final season adds Hugh Dancy

March 26, 2019 by Ricky Church

Hannibal star Hugh Dancy will be joining his wife Claire Danes in the final season of Showtime’s espionage drama Homeland, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

Dancy will play John Zabel “a beltway consultant who joins the new White House as a foreign policy adviser to the president and butts heads with Mandy Patinkin’s Saul Berenson along the way.”

The final season of Homeland will see Danes’ Carrie Mathison “recovering from months of confinement in a Russian gulag. Memory issues from the tortures she’s suffered prove problematic for Saul, who calls on her to engage the Taliban in peace negotiations.”

Joining Danes, Patinkin and Dancy is Sam Tramwell (True Blood) in a recurring role as the Vice President. Production on Homeland‘s eighth and final season has begun with the season to premiere late 2019.
