Michael Rooker to star alongside Dylan O’Brien in Monster Problems

March 27, 2019 by Gary Collinson

Michael Rooker (Guardians of the Galaxy) has signed on to star alongside Dylan O’Brien (The Maze Runner) in the post-apocalyptic road movie Monster Problems, Deadline has revealed.

Scripted by Brian Duffield and Matthew Robinson, Monster Problems is described as “a coming-of-age story about a young man living in a post-apocalyptic world overrun by monsters” and will see Rooker taking on the role of Clyde, an expert hunter and mentor to Joel (O’Brien).

Michael Matthews (Five Fingers for Marseilles) is set to direct the film for Shawn Levy’s 21 Laps, and the property is being eyed as a potential ongoing franchise.

Rooker is currently appearing in the third season of HBO’s True Detective and has recently wrapped filming on Sony and Blumhouse Productions’ Fantasy Island movie.
