Rumour: Emma Watson front-runner to star alongside Scarlett Johansson in Marvel’s Black Widow

With Marvel’s Black Widow gearing up to shoot this year, the Disney-owned studio is looking for some star power to fill out the film’s cast, and according to a rumour from The Hashtag Show, the House of Ideas has been looking at a few key actresses for a role as Scarlett Johansson’s co-star.

Apparently topping this list is Emma Watson, best known for her role as Hermione in the Harry Potter franchise as well as playing Belle in Disney’s Beauty and the Beast. Also said to be on the Marvel shortlist are actresses such as Alice Englert, Dar Zuzovsky and Florence Pugh, the latter of whom is currently having a great run with the release of Fighting With My Family.

Black Widow is set to be directed by Cate Shortland (Berlin Syndrome) and is reportedly looking o start filming in June ahead of a 2020 release date.
