Tom Holland to reunite with Avengers directors for Cherry

March 17, 2019 by Gary Collinson

After working with Anthony and Joe Russo on Captain America: Civil War, Avengers: Infinity War and Avengers: Endgame, it looks like Tom Holland is set to reunite with the filmmakers for their next directorial effort Cherry.

The Wrap reports that Holland is in talks to play an Iraq War veteran who turns to robbing banks in order to pay for his medical bills and cope with PTSD. It is based upon the fictionalised book by Nico Walker, himself an army medic who is currently served a prison sentence for bank robbery, and has been scripted by Jessica Goldberg (The Path).

Filming on Cherry is slated to get underway this summer once the Russos finish their commitments to Avengers: Endgame. Holland meanwhile will follow that with another Marvel outing in Spider-Man: Far From Home, while his other upcoming projects include Chaos Walking, The Devil All the Time, Spies in Disguise, The Voyage of Doctor Dolittle and Onward.
