SPOILERS: Another huge Original Trilogy character return rumoured for Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker

April 24, 2019 by Gary Collinson

If rumours are to be believed, Billy Dee Williams’ Lando Calrissian and Ian McDiarmid’s Emperor Palpatine aren’t going to be the only Original Trilogy characters making their return to the galaxy far, far away in December’s Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker,.

According to Making Star Wars, Harrison Ford has filmed a sequence for the final chapter of the Skywalker saga, reprising his role as Han Solo for the second time in the Sequel Trilogy.

The site claims that the sequence in question will take place as Kylo Ren reaches out to Darth Vader’s burned helmet to help show him the darkness again. However, Luke Skywalker then appears as a Force Ghost and conjures a “vision” of Han, who tells his son that he forgives him, and urges him to turn back to the light side.

While this report is unconfirmed, it’s worth noting that Making Star Wars has proven to be a very reliable source for news on the franchise, and so we suspect there’s a very good chance the information is accurate.

Either way, let us know in the comments if you’re excited about the possible return of Harrison Ford’s Han Solo, as well as a long-awaited reunion (of sorts) with Mark Hamill’s Luke Skywalker…
