Sea of Solitude release date announced

May 29, 2019 by Liam Waddington

Electronic Arts and German studio Jo-Mei Games have announced the story-driven adventure game Sea of Solitude is set to launch worldwide on 5th July 2019 on PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC via Origin.

Sea of Solitude follows the story of Kay, a young woman who explores an abandoned underwater city overwhelmed by monsters. However, Kay has mysteriously turned into a red-eyed monster herself and will learn what caused this transformation in the first place. Players will unlock brand-new areas to explore through overcoming emotional challenges and progressively revealing light and colour into a dark and stormy world.

Check out the 2018 teaser trailer here…

“Sea of Solitude centres on the essence of loneliness and tugs on the heartstrings of its players by mirroring their own reality. It’s by far the most artistic and personal project I’ve ever created, written during a very emotional time in my life,” said Cornelia Geppert, CEO of Jo-Mei Games. “Designing characters based on emotions was a deeply personal achievement for our team and we’re soJo excited for players to soon experience Kay’s powerful story of self-discovery and healing.”

Sea of Solitude is a part of the EA Originals program. Other titles in the program include A Way Out, a co-operative two-player game about a prison escape, and Fe, an exploration-based platformer.
