James Gunn’s The Suicide Squad adds Flula Borg

August 22, 2019 by Gary Collinson

As director James Gunn continues to assemble the cast of his DC Extended Universe reboot / sequel The Suicide Squad, Deadline is reporting that German actor, comedian and musician Flula Borg (Pitch Perfect 2, The Good Place) has signed on to appear in the supervillain team-up.

Details on Borg’s character are being kept under wraps, but the trade has revealed that he will be portraying “a love interest to one of the characters in the Warner Bros. release”.

Borg joins a cast that includes returning Suicide Squad stars Margot Robbie (Harley Quinn), Viola Davis (Amanda Waller), Jai Courtney (Captain Boomerang), Joel Kinnaman (Rick Flag) as well as new DCEU additions David Dastmalchian (Ant-Man) as Polka-Dot Man, Daniela Melchior (Valor da Vida) as Ratcatcher, and Idris Elba (Fast & Furious Presents: Hobbs & Shaw), John Cena (Bumblebee) and Storm Reid (A Wrinkle in Time) in as-yet-unrevealed roles.
