J.J. Abrams says Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker was the most challenging project of his career

October 11, 2019 by Samuel Brace

J.J. Abrams, the director of Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker, says that the film and finishing the saga was the most challenging thing he has ever worked on.

With any Star Wars project, there is huge pressure placed on the creatives, this is doubly true for theatrical movies. The task for J.J. Abrams is even more daunting as he needs to finish off the entire Skywalker saga.

Speaking to The Star Wars Show, director of Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker revealed the challenge of making the movie, acknowledging what a massive moment this is for the franchise:

“It’s been a gift to work with these people again. To get to deal with these characters again. I didn’t think that was going to happen for me. This ending, which is such an important thing for all of us, by far, has been the most challenging thing I’ve ever worked on.”

Hopefully, this displays how much Abrams wants to do justice to the entire saga with this movie and how much effort he is putting into making a fitting finale. Luckily, there’s only a few months to go before fans can experience the end for themselves.
