Stephanie Beatriz couldn’t play She-Hulk due to scheduling conflicts with Brooklyn Nine-Nine

February 24, 2020 by Liam Waddington

When a She-Hulk project was first announced fans were immediately putting Brooklyn Nine-Nine’s Stephanie Beatriz forward to play Jennifer Walters/She-Hulk, and the axtress even publicly expressed interest in the role herself on multiple occasions.

However, the actress has recently taken to Twitter to announce she would not be available to portray the superhero in the upcoming Disney+ series due to scheduling conflicts with Brooklyn Nine-Nine.

“But like how do I get my arms to actually look like this,” Beatriz asked her followers. “Can someone give me a plan or something? Also, I think this show starts shooting in August and I’m unavailable because we’re shooting season 8 of Brooklyn Nine-Nine at that same time. But still, I’m serious about the arms.)”

In a previous interview last year, Beatriz discussed fans casting her as She-Hulk to which she responded by claiming she “would die to play that role”.

She-Hulk is being written by Jessica Gao (Rick and Morty), however, there are no details on the story or casting for the roles as of yet. The series is presumably targeting a 2022 release date with Marvel’s Disney+ schedule being filled through to the end of 2021 with The Falcon and the Winter Soldier, WandaVision, Loki, What If…?, Ms. Marvel and Hawkeye.

Are you looking forward to seeing She-Hulk join the MCU? Who would you like to see cast as Jennifer Walters? Let us know in the comments below or tweet us @flickeringmyth…
