New Joker rumoured for Matt Reeves’ The Batman trilogy

June 9, 2020 by Samuel Brace

Matt Reeves’ upcoming The Batman trilogy is rumoured to be introducing a new version of the Joker.

Many DC fans are looking forward to seeing what Matt Reeves does with The Batman and his planned trilogy of films around the Caped Crusader. While the Joker has made a splash recently with the 2019 Joaquin Phoenix film, is it possible we get yet another rendition of the character in Reeves’ films?

Well, according to a recent rumour, this is exactly what we can expect. The Direct reports: “According to our contributing insider Daniel Richtman, Matt Reeves is planning to introduce a new Joker into his Batman trilogy. Reeves is planning for the Joker to appear in the second and third movies as one of the films’ multiple villains. This new Joker will be referenced in 2021’s The Batman, and casting for the role has not yet begun.”

As stated, this is still a rumour as nothing official has been announced so take this with a pinch of salt but it would make sense for the new trilogy of Batman films to at some point introduce the hero’s most iconic villain.

Are you ready for another incarnation of The Joker? Who would you like to see taking on the role of the Clown Prince of Crime opposite Robert Pattinson? Let us know in the comments below or on our social channels @FlickeringMyth…
