Disney+’s Beauty and the Beast Gaston spinoff titled The Little Town

August 3, 2020 by Gary Collinson

In March it was revealed that Disney is expanding the world of Beauty and the Beast with a TV series spinoff centred on Luke Evans Gaston and Josh Gad’s LeFou, and now it appears we know the official title for the Disney+ original.

During an interview with Variety to mark his admission into the exclusive EGOT club (those who have won an Emmy, Grammy, Oscar and Tony), legendary composer Alan Menken discussed his future projects, and seemingly dropped the title for the spinoff series.

“I’m excited about the projects I’m doing,” said Menken. “I’m working on [the Enchanted sequel] Disenchanted and a new Beauty and the Beast prequel, The Little Town. I’ve also been working on the new animated picture Spellbound with John Lasseter.  And I’m doing a bunch of Broadway shows.”

Believed to be a six-part musical, the series sees Once Upon a Time creators Eddy Kitsis and Adam Horowitz serving as showrunners as well as co-writing with Gad, while Menken will be contributing new music to the show.
