HBO Max to reunite The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air cast for reunion special

September 4, 2020 by Gary Collinson

Not content with reuniting the cast of Friends, HBO Max has announced that it will be bringing together the surviving cast members of another classic 90s sitcom with a reunion special for The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air.

The special will see Will Smith joined by series regulars Tatyana Ali, Karyn Parsons, Joseph Marcell, Daphne Maxwell Reid and Alfonso Ribeiro as well as DJ Jazzy Jeff, and is set to feature music, dancing, and surprise guests. It is set to tape on September 10th, which is the 30th anniversary of the original series’ premiere on NBC, and will air on HBO Max at some point around Thanksgiving.

Will Smith is producing the reunion special through his Westbrook Media production company. Just last month, it was announced that Westbrook is also producing a dramatic reboot of the comedy series entitled Bel-Air, which is based on a viral short made by Morgan Cooper who will co-write with Chris Collins (The Wire).
