Emma Roberts teams with Netflix for vampire series First Kill

October 19, 2020 by Gary Collinson

American Horror Story and Scream Queens star Emma Roberts is teaming with Netflix to produce a YA vampire series entitled First Kill, which is based upon a short story from bestselling author Victoria “V. E.” Schwab.

First Kill has received an eight-episode series order from Netflix, and the logline reads: “When it’s time for teenage vampire Juliette to make her first kill so she can take her place among a powerful vampire family, she sets her sights on a new girl in town named Calliope. But much to Juliette’s surprise, Calliope is a vampire hunter, from a family of celebrated slayers. Both find that the other won’t be so easy to kill and, unfortunately, way too easy to fall for.”

Roberts’ Belletrist Productions picked up the rights to the short story, tapping Schwab to create, write and executive produce, with Felicia D. Henderson (The Punisher) serving as showrunner.
