Aubrey Plaza to star alongside Jason Statham in Guy Ritchie’s untitled action thriller

December 4, 2020 by Ricky Church

Deadline announced Aubrey Plaza (Happiest Season) is set to star alongside Jason Statham in Guy Ritchie’s upcoming action thriller which was formerly titled Five Eyes, but will now go by a new and as-yet-unknown title.

Statham will star as MI6 guns-and-steel agent Orson Fortune who “is recruited by a global intelligence alliance to track down and stop the sale of a deadly new weapons technology that threatens to disrupt the world order. Reluctantly paired with CIA high-tech expert Sarah Fidel, Fortune sets off on a globe-trotting mission where he will have to use all of his charm, ingenuity, and stealth to track down and infiltrate billionaire arms broker Greg Simmonds.”

While it has not been announced what role Plaza will play, it is likely she is the CIA tech-expert Statham’s Fortune is reluctantly paired with for the mission.

Ritchie’s untitled film is written by Ivan Atkinson and Marn Davies (The Gentlemen) with revisions by Ritchie. Miramax’s Bill Block will produce with Miramax financing the film and producing alongside STXfilms, who will distribute the film in the US, UK and Ireland.
