Lucifer writers share disappointing release date update for Season 5 Part 2

January 18, 2021 by Liam Waddington

Although the first half of Lucifer season five was released on Netflix last year, it seems like the ongoing global health crisis has seemingly delayed the release date for the eagerly awaited second half.

Taking to Twitter, the writers of Lucifer revealed that current events have disrupted the release schedule for the season and even they don’t know when the second half will be released as it isn’t entirely finished yet.

We know everyone wants to know, but truth is even WE don't know when #LuciferSeason5B will come out. It’s not finished yet. The pandemic blew up our plans. But when we have an official release date, trust us, we’re dying to let you know! Same with a trailer. #patience #Lucifer https://t.co/y31KRRIFph

Lucifer Season 5 Part 1, which is currently streaming on Netflix and consists of eight episodes, picks up with Lucifer Morningstar still ruling over Hell until his twin brother Michael emerges and begins to cause havoc for Lucifer’s life on Earth.

Lucifer, bored and unhappy as the Lord of Hell, resigns his throne and abandons his kingdom for the gorgeous, shimmering insanity of Los Angeles, where he gets his kicks helping the LAPD punish criminals.

Lucifer is created by showrunners Ildy Modrovich and Joe Henderson and stars Tom Ellis, Lauren German, Rachael Harris, DB Woodside, Lesley-Ann Brandt, Aimee Garcia, Tricia Helfer, Scarlett Estevez, and Kevin Alejandro.
