The Boys season 3 will be three times bloodier than season 2, says star Laz Alonso

April 30, 2021 by Liam Waddington

With the third season of Amazon’s The Boys currently in development, star Laz Alonso, who plays Marvin T. Milk, has teased the extent of the blood and violence fans will be expecting from the latest season.

In an interview with Collider, while promoting Guy Ritchie’s latest feature film Wrath of Man, Alonso revealed that the third season will be three times bloodier than the second season with production already “between one-fourth of the way through and halfway through.”

“I’ll put it to you this way. I was talking to the head makeup artist and she’s in charge of ordering the blood — that’s one of her many jobs. She told me that all of Season 2… When you talk about bulk, I don’t think they used over a gallon of blood in Season 2, believe it or not. Season 3, we’re already at three and a half gallons of blood. So that should give you a little indication of where it’s going.”

The third season of The Boys sees the addition of Jensen Ackles (Supernatural) as Soldier Boy and Katia Winter (Blood & Treasure, Sleepy Hollow) as villain Little Nina, while expected returnees include Karl Urban, Jack Quaid, Tomer Capon, Laz Alonso, Karen Fukuhara, Antony Starr, Dominique McElligott, Erin Moriarty, Jessie Usher, Nathan Mitchell, Chace Crawford, Claudia Doumit, Colby Minifie and Giancarlo Esposito.
