The Falcon and the Winter Soldier director would be interested in helming Captain America 4

April 29, 2021 by Liam Waddington

Following the finale of Marvel’s The Falcon and the Winter Soldier, the studio announced that a fourth Captain America movie is heading into development from showrunner Malcolm Spellman.

Although there is currently no director linked with the project, The Falcon and the Winter Soldier helmer Kari Skogland has stated that she would be open to returning for the upcoming Marvel Studios film.

“I think if Marvel called me to do anything, if they called me to film the phone book, I would do it,” Skogland told CinemaBlend‘s ReelBlend podcast. “The Marvel characters are all very, very rich. I’ve become friends with Anthony and Sebastian, and I really enjoyed working with them. And Emily and Daniel Bruhl. I mean, I’ve worked with them for a couple of years, so of course, I have a special place in my heart. But as I said, if Kevin [Feige] picked up the phone, I would answer it.”

While plot details for Captain America 4 are being kept under wraps, we do know Spellman will co-write the film alongside Dalan Musson. Anthony Mackie’s Sam Wilson will lead the new film, however, there has been no confirmation whether Sebastian Stan’s Bucky Barnes/The Winter Soldier or Emily VanCamp’s Sharon Carter will be featured.
