Anna Kendrick joins Netflix’s quiz show serial killer movie Rodney & Sheryl

May 31, 2021 by Matt Rodgers

Every-so-often a doozy of concept gets given the Hollywood greenlight, and that’s where you can file this piece of breaking news. Anna Kendrick has signed on to play a quiz show contestant who unwittingly gets paired with a serial killer who’s in the middle of his murderous spree in Netflix’s Rodney & Sheryl.

Deadline reports that the remarkable true-story will be directed by Chloe Okuno, who will work from Ian MacAllister McDonald’s Blacklist script Rodney & Cheryl.

Kendrick will play Sheryl Bradshaw, who was taking part in the popular television show The Dating Game, when the contestant vying for her affections was one Rodney Alcala, a serial killer who was in the middle of his 1978 rampage, yet decided to take part in the show.

Rodney & Sheryl will reportedly focus on the events of the game show, snippets of which you can watch on YouTube.
