AMC’s Interview with the Vampire series adds Game of Thrones alum Jacob Anderson as Louis

August 26, 2021 by Liam Waddington

Following on from the announcement that Sam Reid (The Hunting) has been cast as the vampire Lestat, AMC has revealed that Game of Thrones alum Jacob Anderson will portray Louis de Pointe du Lac in the series adaptation of Anne Rice’s vampire novel Interview with the Vampire.

In Interview with the Vampire, Louis de Pointe du Lac is the unfortunate eighteenth-century plantation owner who is turned into a vampire by Lestat, however, Louis, who is still attached to his human soul, resists the urge to drink human blood and instead only drinks animal blood. Anderson is now the second actor to play Louis on screen, after Brad Pitt’s portrayal in the 1994 film, based on the novel of the same name.

Interview with the Vampire follows “centuries-old vampire Louis de Pointe du Lac [as he] narrates his life to a reporter, starting with when Lestat de Lioncourt turned him into a vampire before going into their life together.”

The eight-episode series will see Rolin Jones (The Exorcist, Perry Mason) serving as showrunner on the series with Thor: The Dark World and Terminator: Genisys director Alan Taylor helming the first two episodes. Mark Johnson, Anne Rice and Christopher Rice will executive produce the series.
