Coming off an acclaimed festival run, IFC Films is set to bring RoboCop and Basic Instinct director Paul Verhoeven’s latest film, the steamy lesbian nun drama Benedetta, to the US this December, and the distributor has shared a new trailer for the film which we have for you here…

Based on a true story, a 17th-century nun becomes entangled in a forbidden lesbian affair with a novice. But it is Benedetta’s shocking religious visions that threaten to shake the Church to its core.
Benedetta will release in the U.S. on on December 3rd and sees Paul Verhoeven directing a cast that includes Virginie Efira, Daphne Patakia, Lambert Wilson, Olivier Rabourdin, Clotilde Courau, Herve Pierre, and Charlotte Rampling.
