Exclusive Interview – The Harder They Fall editor Tom Eagles

October 7, 2021 by Gary Collinson

Oscar nominated for Jojo Rabbit, editor on Ash vs The Evil Dead and now collaborator of choice for Jeymes Samuel on The Harder They Fall, Tom Eagles is versatile. Counting Taika Waititi is a close friend and likeminded creative soul, his latest project which opened the London Film Festival is jam packed with invention.

Taking tradition Western touchstones and weaving some magic of his own making, director Jeymes Samuel has created something cinematically unique. Tom Eagles recently took time out to talk to Martin Carr about his involvement in this intriguing project. Watch the interview below and give us a follow on YouTube for more exclusive interviews and video content…

When outlaw Nat Love (Jonathan Majors) discovers that his enemy Rufus Buck (Idris Elba) is being released from prison he rounds up his gang to track Rufus down and seek revenge. Those riding with him in this assured, righteously new school Western include his former love Stagecoach Mary (Zazie Beetz), his right and left hand men — hot-tempered Bill Pickett (Edi Gathegi) and fast drawing Jim Beckwourth (R.J. Cyler)—and a surprising adversary-turned-ally. Rufus Buck has his own fearsome crew, including “Treacherous” Trudy Smith (Regina King) and Cherokee Bill (LaKeith Stanfield), and they are not a group that knows how to lose.

The Harder They Fall arrives in cinemas on October 22nd, and on Netflix on November 3rd.
