After a couple of years disruption due to COVID, Diamond Comic Distributors has announced that Free Comic Book Day is set to return to its traditional “First Saturday in May” date next year as FCBD 2022 takes place at local comic book shops in May.
“We are so excited for Free Comic Book Day to make its return to the first Saturday in May. We know it’s an event fans look forward to each spring, and we’re working with our retailer and vendor partners to make this year’s event one of the best yet!” said Free Comic Book Day spokesperson, Ashton Greenwood. “Free Comic Book Day is a great opportunity for newcomers to dive into the world of comics and for longtime readers to try a new title they may not have picked up otherwise. We encourage fans everywhere to visit their local comic shops on Saturday, May 7 to celebrate!”
Celebrating its 20th anniversary with its delayed event this past August, Free Comic Book Day is one of the most beloved and anticipated events in the comic book calendar. This year’s event will feature 45 free comic book titles, with the 11 Gold Sponsor and 34 Silver Sponsor titles set to be announced in December.
Free Comic Book Day 2022 will take place on Saturday, May 7th 2022.
