Gal Gadot joins Disney’s Snow White as the Evil Queen

November 4, 2021 by EJ Moreno

Known for playing one of the most good-hearted superheroes, Gal Gadot will turn to the dark side of her next role. Deadline reports the Wonder Woman actress has joined Disney’s new Snow White film as the Evil Queen.

Marc Webb will direct the new live-action Snow White film for Disney, with West Side Story’s Rachel Zegler set to play the titular character. Deadline notes that Gadot is in final negotiations to play the Evil Queen. This will mark one of the first times Gadot has played a villainous role in a film, but as Disney’s other live-action adaptations have taught us, her character could have a hidden good side.

Deadline notes that Disney has always had their eye on Gal Gadot for the role and mentions playing the Evil Queen intrigues Gadot. They even mention her wanting to join the likes of Angelina Jolie and Cate Blanchett as Disney villains. Fans online are curious, though, if she’ll don the iconic older witchy look for the role as well? Only time will tell. Production is expected to start in 2022.

You can see Gal Gadot next in Red Notice, which also stars Dwayne Johnson and Ryan Reynolds, on Netflix on November 12th.
