Rob Delaney joins Matthew Vaughn spy thriller Argylle

November 4, 2021 by Ricky Church

Matthew Vaughn’s upcoming spy thriller Argylle has just gained another cast member as The Hollywood Reporter has revealed that Rob Delaney (Deadpool 2) is the latest to join Henry Cavill in the star-studded ensemble.

The film, based on the soon to be launched novel Argylle, written by author Ellie Conway, follows the world’s greatest spy” ‘Argylle’ as he is caught up in a globe-trotting adventure. It is the first part of an intended trilogy that will take the franchise from America, London, and various locations around the world.

Vaughn, who will write from a script by Wonder Woman‘s Jason Fuchs, commented saying: “When I read this early draft manuscript I felt it was the most incredible and original spy franchise since Ian Fleming’s books of the 50s. This is going to reinvent the spy genre.”

Delaney will be seen next in the Disney+ relaunch of the Home Alone franchise, Home Sweet Home Alone.

Argylle‘s star-studded ensemble cast includes Henry Cavill (The Witcher), Sam Rockwell (Vice), Bryce Dallas-Howard (Jurassic World), Bryan Cranston (Breaking Bad), Dua Lipa (making her film debut and supplying the soundtrack), John Cena (Peacemaker), Catherine O’Hara (Schitt’s Creek), Samuel L. Jackson (The Hitman’s Bodyguard), Ariana DeBose (The Prom) and Rob Delaney (Deadpool 2).
