Will Ferrell and Jamie Foxx are Strays for Universal’s CG/live-action canine comedy

December 9, 2021 by Matt Rodgers

Will Ferrell (The Shrink Next Door) and Jamie Fox (Spider-Man: No Way Home) are set to team up to take on Will Forte (MacGruber) in a new CGI/live action comedy from the director of Barb and Star Go to Vista Del Mar.

Per Deadline, Strays will be a combination of CGI and live-action elements to be directed by Barb and Star‘s Josh Greenbaum. American Vandal‘s Dan Perrault wrote the screenplay, which tells the story of an abandoned dog (played by Ferrell) who teams up with other strays, including one voiced by Foxx, to get revenge on his former owner (Forte).

Strays is already in post-production over at Universal, and is aiming to be released from the pound sometime in 2022.

Is your tail-wagging at the idea of a canine caper staring Will Ferrell, Jamie Foxx and Will Forte, or has the pitch for Strays made you barking mad? Let us know what you think of this news by heading over to our social channels @FlickeringMyth…
