Marvel’s Ironheart series adds This Is Us actress Lyric Ross

February 27, 2022 by Gary Collinson

THR is reporting that young actress Lyric Ross has signed on to star alongside Dominique Thorne is Marvel Studios’ Disney+ series Ironheart.

As revealed by the trade, Ross is set to play the best friend of Thorne’s Riri Williams, a teenage genius who builds her own Iron Man armor and fights crime as Ironheart.

If Marvel is sticking to its comic book source material, then Ross’ character is presumably that of Natalie Washington, who – SPOILERS – is killed along with Riri’s stepfather after they are caught in the line of fire of a drive by while enjoying a picnic with a then-13 year old Riri in the park.

Along with Thorne and Ross, Marvel’s Ironheart series is set to feature Anthony Ramos (In the Heights), who is believed to be portraying the villain – potentially Ezekiel Stane, the son of Jeff Bridges’ Iron Man bad guy Obadiah Stane.

Ironheart is expected to begin production in April, while Dominique Thorne’s Riri Williams will make her Marvel Cinematic Universe debut ahead of the show with an appearance in Black Panther: Wakanda Forever.
