Seth Rogen joins Bill Murray in Aziz Ansari’s directorial debut Being Mortal

March 25, 2022 by Matt Rodgers

Seth Rogen has signed on to star in Aziz Ansari’s feature directorial debut Being Mortal, which will see the actor join Bill Murray in the Searchlight Pictures comedy-drama.

Based on health expert Atul Gawande’s non-fiction book Being Mortal: Medicine and What Matters in the End, The Hollywood Reporter reveal that Rogen will star alongside writer-director Ansari and comedy legendry Bill Murray in the film.

The official blurb from Amazon for Being Mortal describes it as “a book about the modern experience of mortality – about what it’s like to get old and die, how medicine has changed this and how it hasn’t, where our ideas about death have gone wrong. With his trademark mix of perceptiveness and sensitivity, Atul Gawande outlines a story that crosses the globe, as he examines his experiences as a surgeon and those of his patients and family, and learns to accept the limits of what he can do.

Production on Being Mortal will start in April, with Searchlight Pictures aiming to release it theatrically in 2023.
