Jackass TV revival in the works at Paramount+

May 4, 2022 by EJ Moreno

Jackass is enjoying a bit of a comeback. First, the latest film, Jackass Forever, impressed the box office, and now the series is getting revamped for Paramount’s streamer.

It has been announced that a new series of Jackass will be heading to Paramount+, where the latest film is currently streaming. The original Jackass ran for three short seasons on MTV between October 2000 and August 2001, with reruns extending into 2002.

“Based off the success of Jackass Forever, we’re working with the creators to continue the partnership with a new series, bringing even more ridiculous antics straight to Paramount+,” Paramount Global CEO Bob Bakish told a post-earnings analyst call.

Jackass Forever opened on February 4th to an impressive $23.5 million at the domestic box office. It would gross over $80 million worldwide against its reasonable $10 million budget. The film currently sits at 86% on Rotten Tomatoes. The extended cut filled with behind-the-scenes clips and bloopers titled Jackass 4.5 will be released on May 20th, 2022, via Netflix.

Check out our interview with Jackass Forever star Johnny Knoxville here…

Celebrating the joy of being back together with your best friends and a perfectly executed shot to the dingdong, the original jackass crew return for another round of hilarious, wildly absurd, and often dangerous displays of comedy with a little help from some exciting new cast. Johnny and the team push the envelope even further.

Jackass Forever is directed by Jeff Tremaine and features a cast that includes Johnny Knoxville, Steve-O, Chris Pontius, Dave England, Wee Man, Danger Ehren, and Preston Lacy alongside new additions Jasper, Rachel Wolfson, Sean “Poopies” McInerney, Zach Holmes, and Eric Manaka.
