Joker: Folie À Deux adds Jacob Lofland in key role

September 16, 2022 by Gary Collinson

Director Todd Phillips continues to assemble the cast of his Joker sequel ahead of a November production start, with Jacob Lofland (Mud, The Son) the latest addition to the hotly-anticipated Joker: Folie À Deux.

Lofland joins Joaquin Phoenix, who reprises his Oscar-winning role as Arthur Fleck/Joker, along with Zazie Beetz’s Sophie, while other new additions to the cast for the sequel include Lady Gaga (A Star Is Born) as Harley Quinn and Brendan Gleeson (The Banshes of Inisherin) and Catherine Keener (The Adam Project) in as-yet-unrevealed roles.

While details on the film are scarce, THR is reporting that Lofland is set for a key supporting part and will play an inmate at Arkham Asylum who develops a relationship with Phoenix’s Arthur Fleck.

Joker: Folie À Deux will begin production in December and is slated for release on October 4th, 2024 release date.
