Disney’s Haunted Mansion opens its doors with first trailer

Walt Disney Studios has debuted the first trailer and poster for Haunted Mansion, the upcoming supernatural adventure inspired by the the classic Disney theme park attraction.

Directed by Justin Simien (Dear White People), the film follows a doctor (Rosario Dawson) and her young son (Chase W. Dillon), as they enlist the aid of a host of quirky characters to help rid their new home, a uninviting mansion in New Orleans, of its supernatural squatters. Watch the trailer below…

In this mysterious adventure, a doctor (Rosario Dawson) and her 9-year-old son (Chase Dillon), looking to start a new life, move into a strangely affordable mansion in New Orleans, only to discover that the place is much more than they bargained for.

Desperate for help, they contact a priest (Owen Wilson), who, in turn, enlists the aid of a widowed scientist-turned failed-paranormal expert (LaKeith Stanfield), a French Quarter psychic (Tiffany Haddish) and a crotchety historian (Danny DeVito).

Haunted Mansion features a star-studded cast that includes Rosario Dawson, Chase W. Dillon, LaKeith Stanfield, Tiffany Haddish, Owen Wilson, Danny DeVito, Dan Levy, Jamie Lee Curtis and Jared Leto.

Haunted Mansion arrives in cinemas on July 28th in the US, and on August 11th in the UK.
