Sony sets new Marvel release dates, including Spider-Man 4?

June 18, 2023 by EJ Moreno

Let the speculation begin as Sony starts the hype for new Marvel releases by securing two new release dates: November 8th, 2024, and June 27th, 2025. Both will be set for IMAX releases as well.

As of now, November 8th is uncontested, with no films opening against it. The June 27th release has two films playing against it, an untitled Blumhouse movie and the new Disney live-action take on Moana.

Little is known about the releases, but Tom Holland recently spoke about Spider-Man 4, saying, “Whether or not it’ll come to fruition, who knows? But right now, it’s looking pretty good, and we’ll just have to wait and see.”

We could also see Venom 3 land the spot as the cast and crew begins to take shape for the Tom Hardy-led film. The Venom sequel had originally been earmarked for October 2024, although that date could be pushed back due to ongoing strike action in Hollywood.

Right now, Sony Pictures is celebrating the success of Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse. The film has currently racked up $412 million worldwide and has not slowed down much. The third installmment is currently slated for March 29th, 2024, but rumors have swirled that a delay is coming, so maybe the November 8th date will go to Spider-Man: Beyond the Spider-Verse.

Miles Morales returns for the next chapter of the Oscar®-winning Spider-Verse saga, Spider-Man™: Across the Spider-Verse. After reuniting with Gwen Stacy, Brooklyn’s full-time, friendly neighborhood Spider-Man is catapulted across the Multiverse, where he encounters a team of Spider-People charged with protecting its very existence. But when the heroes clash on how to handle a new threat, Miles finds himself pitted against the other Spiders and must redefine what it means to be a hero so he can save the people he loves most.

Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse hails from directors Joaquim Dos Santos, Justin K. Thompson, and Kemp Powers and features a voice cast that includes Shameik Moore as Miles Morales, Hailee Steinfeld as Gwen Stacy, Jake Johnson as Peter. B Parker, Oscar Issac as Spider-Man 2099, Issa Rae as Jessica Drew/Spider-Woman, Daniel Kaluuya as Spider-Punk, Karan Soni as Spider-Man India, and Jason Schwartzman as The Spot.

Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse is now playing.
