Daredevil: Born Again villain reportedly revealed

July 24, 2023 by EJ Moreno

Even though production is currently halted due to the ongoing Hollywood strikes, Daredevil: Born Again finds a way to keep its hype alive.

While familiar faces are returning to face off with Charlie Cox’s Daredevil, like the villainous Kingpin played by Vincent D’Onofrio and Jon Bernthal’s The Punisher, it seems like Daredevil now has a new foe.

We may have just learned the villain for part of the upcoming eighteen-episode Disney+ series via a new report from DanielRPK. Per the report, Muse will be the villain of the first arc of Daredevil: Born Again.

The character is a fairly deep cut from the Daredevil lore; Muse is described as a mysterious, deranged artist who is primarily an antagonist to Daredevil and Blindspot in the comics. His twisted work sees him attempting to give purpose to his victims by turning them into twisted works of “art” using their blood and gore for murals.

This could lead to one of the most deranged villains in the MCU, with Daredevil needing to face off with one of the deadliest foes outside of his arch-enemies, Kingpin.

Production on the planned eight-month shoot began in early March but was halted in mid-June due to the writer’s strike. With the new actor’s strike, it seems like it’ll be some time before we see anything from this project. Will this give production time to figure out how to handle a villain like Muse? Only time will tell…

Marvel’s Daredevil: Born Again includes Netflix Marvel veterans Charlie Cox (Daredevil), Vincent D’Onofrio (Kingpin), and Jon Bernthal (The Punisher) in the series, while MCU newcomers include Sandrine Holt (American Gigolo) as Vanessa Fisk and Michael Gandolfini (The Many Saints of Newark), Margarita Levieva (The Deuce), Arty Froushan (Carnival Row), and Nikki M. James (The Book of Mormon) in as yet-unrevealed roles.

Marvel’s Daredevil: Born Again is coming to Disney+ in 2024.
