Marvel’s X-Men ’97 trailer reveals March debut for X-Men: The Animated Series revival

February 15, 2024 by Ricky Church

Marvel and Disney have released the first trailer for the anticipated animated series X-Men ’97, a continuation revival of the beloved X-Men: The Animated Series with the premiere date set for March 20th, 2024.

The series features the original cast of Cyclops, Jean Grey, Wolverine, Storm, Beast, Gambit, Rogue, Jubilee, Morph and Bishop as they protect both mutant and humankind from various threats. It will pick up where X-Men ended with Charles Xavier leaving Earth with Shi’ar empress Lilandra after contracting a deadly illness which only the Shi’ar could cure. X-Men ’97 sees the team continuing Xavier’s legacy, but the mutant leader has left everything he possesses to his old friend – and the team’s enemy – Magneto.

The revival revisits the iconic era of the 1990s as The X-Men, a band of mutants who use their uncanny gifts to protect a world that hates and fears them, are challenged like never before, forced to face a dangerous and unexpected new future.

X-Men ’97 features Ray Chase as Cyclops, Jennifer Hale as Jean Grey, Alison Sealy-Smith as Storm, Cal Dodd as Wolverine, JP Karliak as Morph, Lenore Zann as Rogue, George Buza as Beast, AJ LoCascio as Gambit, Holly Chou as Jubilee, Isaac Robinson-Smith as Bishop, Matthew Waterson as Magneto and Adrian Hough as Nightcrawler. The series comes from Beau DeMayo as head writer with the 10-episode season directed by Jake Castorena, Chase Conley and Emi Yonemura.

X-Men ’97 will premiere on March 20th on Disney+.
