Evan Peters says the Quicksilver scene in X-Men: Apocalypse is “bigger and better”

July 18, 2015 by Justin Cook

For many X-Men fans, the highlight of X-Men: Days of Future Past was the scene which involved Quicksilver, played by Evan Peters, using his super speed to take down a room full of guards in the Pentagon. Last month, director Bryan Singer confirmed that there would be another slow-motion Quicksilver sequence in 2016’s X-Men Apocalypse, leaving many fans wondering what to expect.

During a recent interview with MTV, Peters further teased the sequence, while also giving away a bit of information about it: “The special effects guys, man, they absolutely nailed that and did a fantastic job on it. This year we’re working on something that’s bigger and better, keeping the same elements that worked, then adding a few new ones. I’m really excited to see it all cut together, and I’m excited for people to see it, too. I think it’s going to be a really fun sequence in what is going to be a massive X-Men movie.”

X-Men: Apocalypse is set for release on May 19th, 2016 in the UK and May 27th, 2016 in the States, with Bryan Singer directing a cast that includes X-Men veterans James McAvoy (Professor X), Michael Fassbender (Magneto), Jennifer Lawrence (Mystique), Nicholas Hoult (Beast), Evan Peters (Quicksilver), Rose Byrne (Moira MacTaggert), Josh Helman (Stryker) and Lucas Till (Havok), along with newcomers Oscar Isaac (Star Wars: The Force Awakens) as Apocalypse, Sophie Turner (Game of Thrones) as Jean Grey, Tye Sheridan (Mud) as Cyclops, Alexandra Shipp (House of Anubis) as Storm, Kodi Smit-McPhee (Dawn of the Planet of the Apes) as Nightcrawler, Ben Hardy (EastEnders) as Angel, Olivia Munn (Magic Mike) as Psylocke and newcomer Lana Condor as Jubilee.
